"Ampacity is a musical collective, dedicated to exploring the regions of regressive rock, with stoner and space vibes." Encounter One is the band's debut album and will be released at the end of this month through Nasiono Records. Influenced by the golden age of space rock (Hawkwind, Pink Floyd), this Polish 5-piece brings forth 3 wonderful tracks with a stonerrific experimental touch. A freeform, improv style of intergalactic jams and grooves. Encounter One throws in the best ingredients from different styles to make it's own spaced out assembly. This album will take you on a refreshing trip with a surprisingly diverse sound. Encounter One starts with a 13 minute spacegroove entitled Ultima Hombre, after a heavy but soothing stoner riff the track just falls into an amazingly atmospheric retro sound. This sets the tone for the rest of the album, an instrumentally focused voyage into space, stoner, prog and post-rock. The band plays with assorted sounds and genres to create something interesting and unique while staying just heavy enough to make your head spin. You simply can't miss Ampacity. This is a beautifully admirable band and Encounter One is one of the most addictive pieces of music I recently listened to. Yes, it's that good. 42 minutes of proggy spaced out psychedelic stoner-desert jams. For fans of: Secret Saucer, Samsara Blues Experiment, Vibravoid, Litmus & 35007.
