Louisiana melodic rockers Le Roux scored a minor hit with their 1982 album Last Safe Place, only to suffer a major setback when founding singer/guitarist Jeff Pollard departed to start a Christian ministry. Luckily, the sky high vocals of ex-Trillion frontman Fergie Frederiksen became available and along with the addition of second guitarist Jim Odom the re-energized lineup plowed ahead into the pompy AOR sound they had been inching towards on the previous two records with their fifth album So Fired Up. Any lingering West Coast soft rock vibes are extinguished with Frederiksen & Odom's presence, as even the ballads are now in the synthy Foreigner vein. The title track along with single "Carrie's Gone" and prime cut "Lifeline" are definitely worth a look for AOR fans. The group took an extended hiatus following the commercial failure of the album, with Frederiksen immediately moving on to a brief gig fronting Toto. Review by "HellBentForLager" (Rate Your Music).
