THE UNDERGROUND SET is an Italian Heavy Progressive Rock band formed
in the late 1960s. Formed by Gian Piero REVERBERI, known as the producer
of well-known RPI band LE ORME, as well as members of the band NUOVA
IDEA. The band released two albums in the early 70s, "The Underground
Set" in 1970, and "War in the Night Before" in 1971. The band's style
was very typical of the late-60s/early-70s organ lead hard rock, with
plenty of psychedelic space rock elements throughout their sound. The
sound was so typical, in fact, that many believed the band to be of
English origin, although this is also due to the fact that the two
albums were pressed frequently in other European nations. The two albums
are very rare, and are gems for collectors of obscure Italian music.
