This is an altogether different album to FWTB, and so comparisons are probably unfair. Uforia features some of the elements you'd expect from Wright and Fox, ie superb musical compositions, spoken word samples, an otherworldly, alien theme and great guitar from Nik Smith. But there is a maturity, a subtlety on Uforia, (perhaps more of a David Wright influence here?) that put me in mind of the best of early 90's ambient music by the Orb or KLF. Uforia is a class album, beautifully constructed musically, with varied and imaginative use of rhythms and percussion, interspaced with wonderful atmospheric textures. Wright, Fox and Smith are three mature, talented artists at the unfashionable end of the Ambient/Electronic genre who aren't afraid to take risks by attempting, (once again it should be noted! ), something different! For that, and for producing such a great album, they should be congratulated! The stunning production and excellent artwork add to a first class package.
