MEMENTO WALTZ was formed in Tempio Pausania, Italy in 1994. the initial line-up consisted of Giuseppe DEIANNA (bass), Gabrielle MACIOCCO (drums), Livio POIER (guitars) Antonio MUREDDU (guitars) and Tore MUREDDU (vocals). Since its beginnings, the band has evolved its sound from heavy metal to a mix of progressive metal with psychedelic melodies, dark atmospheres and polyrhythmic riffs. Stefano LANGIU replaced Antonio MUREDDU on guitars in 1997, but only for a year, and since then the band continues as a quartet. Their first demo came in 1999, entitled 'Moon's Valley', followed by their second 'Paralleles Minds' in 2002. Their first EP 'Overcoming' was released in 2005 and in the same year the band parted ways with vocalist Tore MUREDDU, only to be replaced in 2006 by Lord GOBLIN (RED WARLOCK, ex-HOLY MARTYR). In 2008 the band recorded a two-track demo entitled 'Brain Journey' but was never released. 2010 saw the released of their second EP ''Antithesis of Time'' with Marco PIU on vocals. The band cites influences from KING CRIMSON, ARK, WATCHTOWER, SPIRAL ARCHITECT and jazz music. Not surprisingly, their sound resembles also to PSYCHOTIC WALTZ and their lyrical themes span around mind states, psychedelia, sci-fi and technology. (Prog Archives).
