Album: Below the Sea of Light (2013)

BIO: Two friends that used to spent together every year, their summer vacations since they were very young, Andreas V. – guitar and Vagelis Lekos – bass guitar, had a mutual need to express their love and passion for music. That’s why the decided to form a band in 1998 and play covers from their favorite bands, with some other friends of them, who also used to spent their summer vacations at the same place Andreas V. and V. Lekos did. After various changes, they named the band “Floating Worlds” and a friend of Andreas V. from high school, Themis Thomopoulos, joined also the band as a drummer, in order to compose their first songs. After a lot of failed attempts, wrong choices and some good luck, and with the help of some session musicians (Leonidas Fasoulas – male vocals, Marina Satti – female vocals and Orestis Diamantaras – keyboards), they finally managed to complete in the autumn of 2007, their first album entitled “Only A Dream, Can Kill A Dream…”. Even though, it was never published by a record label, their first album received great reviews from the press in Greece, Europe and USA. Andreas V. and T. Thomopoulos where the only musicians who stayed to the band after the recordings of their first album, but the band had to start playing some gigs, in order to promote their first album, so the need to find permanent members was obvious. After a lot of changes, the first gig of the “Only A Dream… Tour ’10 – ‘12”, took place on May 2010. Christina Kolliopoulou took over the keyboards, Vagelis Lekos the bass guitar, Tassos Fasoulas (brother of L. Fasoulas who was the singer of their first album) the male vocals, Athina Kamariti the female vocals and keyboards and Sophia Assarioti the guitar. This tour came to an end after 17 gigs, on July 2012, with a lot of changes in the lineup of the band. John Doumas replaced V.Lekos, who had to leave the band due to professional issues, on the bass guitar and Jon Soti replaced T.Fassoulas, who left the band due to personal reasons, on the male vocals. A.Kamariti and S.Assarioti left also the band due to personal reasons, so Andreas V. took over all the guitars of the band, and Christina Kolliopoulou took over all the keyboards and female vocals. Their new album entitled "Below The Sea Of Light" will hit the stores on October 1st 2013. (www.floatingworlds.gr)
