Album: Seal Song (1981)
Genre: Prog Folk (Celtic/Scottish Folk) / UK
This is one of the classics of Scottish traditional music. I used to listen to this endlessly back in the 1980s and 90s. It is definitely one of the albums that got me into playing fiddle...even if I did end up playing more Irish than Scottish. The style is relatively spare and simple compared to, say, the Tannahill Weavers or Altan, but absolutely gorgeous in the settings and playing. The songs are fantastic as well. One of my favorite bands ever, in any genre.
