Album: Wait For a Light to Come (2010)
Genre: Prog Folk (Neofolk/Psych/Contemporary Folk) / Sweden
Swedish psych/ folk rock bands second offering is a fairly short, but six wonderful songs therein nonetheless. The band members switch back and forth between fellow band'Dungen'. The songs are very much soundscapes of subtle folky rock that harks back to the 70s in feel, and whilst the rhythm section are often very busy, the flutes add that quintessential laid back, loose, wafty feel, in fact much more so than on their first album.A few of the songs have the feel of a band having a good jam session, but without the fret boring nonsense they could so easily venture towards, but sticks to crisp and clean sounds that dont blur into each other. Track two sounds decidedly Fairport-ish, with male and female vocals harmonizing rather well. Its all very serene and summery, nothing brash or confrontative to the senses, but wraps you up in the delights of its lush warm glow. Yes I know its a tad short (just under 30 mins) but its nigh on perfect. This (as did their previous offering) garnered some critical acclaim, alas they dont seem to have sunk into many ears as gorgeously as they are capable of. If you love that 70s folk scene with a bit of jefferson Airplane thrown in then this could just do the trick for you. Review by "S.R.J" (www.amazon.co.uk).
