Album: 1989-2003 (2003)(Compilation)
Genre: Soft Prog Folk (Contemporary/Nordic Folk/World Music) / Sweden
As an overview of their career, its a pretty good bet. I actually came to this band via a tape with "Tra" on one side and "Kaksi" on the other and nearly wore it out. Makes you wonder why English folk music isn't as wild and woolly as these, none too distant, Scandinavians. Theres just so much energy in the music that its hard not to like any of the tracks on here (even the odd remix idea kind of works) Whatever World Music is, theses guys are certainly involved to some extent. Its roots are traditional but the influences of pop culture are creeping in, which is partly why Hedningarna are so listenable. Get out your pipes and mix it up a little, peepholes, before its too late and the world rushes past you.. Review by "servalan" (Rate Your Music).
RATING: 7.5 / 10
