Swedish nu.jazz band E.S.T. (Esbjörn Svensson Trio) was possibly brightest figure in European new jazz scene during the early years of the new millennium.After Esbjörn Svensson´s untimely passing in the summer of 2008 his former band-mates Dan Berglund and Magnus Öström had to re-orientate and find a new meaning for their musical lives. Dan Berglund (bass) remembered his former colleagues from the "Per Texas Johansson" band, who he had performed with before he had met Esbjörn Svensson, and he hooked up with Johan Lindström, one of Sweden´s leading steel guitar players. Over the course of the next six months Martin Hederos, pianist of pop-outfit "Soundtracks of our Lives", and Andreas Werliin (drums) joined the team, and they became a new band, TONBRUKET. Still in E.S.T. time Dan Berglund was a "rocker" in their team. In his new band, he develops his love to classic hard rock bands as Black Sabbath and Deep Purple to new form of fusion, adding post-rock and indie influences into this mix. (Prog Archives).
