US quartet ABSINTHE JUNK made their first material available back in 2008, when they released the EP Piece of Junk. But two more years would go by before the foursome, consisting of Matt Arseneau (bass, vocals), Ben Bruno (drums, percussion, samples, vocals), Patrick Himes (guitars, keyboards, vocals) and Blair Verte (vocals, organ, violin, guitars) made an impact with the release of their diverse yet accessible debut album Living Ghosts. A production reflecting the vast span of their main influences, which include artists like Garbage, Pink Floyd and Smashing Pumpkins. In between concerts they also found the time to issue some new material in 2011 with the release of the single Devilish Grin, a small treat to enjoy whilst awaiting the next full musical cocktail. The latest news from this US band is that they are working on their sophomore full length production, tentatively named Death in the Afternoon. (Prog Archives).
