Album: Wide-Awake (2006)

Wide-awake is a nice album by "brother - sister" duo CodeX. The music is mostly in the traditional genre of symphonic progressive music. The compositions are varied, sometime I am reminded of Genesis or Camel, sometime of Gentle Giant and sometime... of no one in perticular. The music is well composed and always interesting. It is mostly "piano - guitar" based and on the mellower side of rock even though, at times, CodeX can crank it up a bit. Boglarka Gerstner's handles the backing vocals and she does it tastefully. Arpad Gerstner has a powerfull and versatile voice on lead. He sings in english with an accent. It is not annoying but you have to get used to it. All in all Wide-awake is an interesting album that could appeal to many.
