Album: Chrome Black Gold (2013)

10 piece outfit (well they were when i last counted) Chrome Hoof release their 5th album “Chrome Black Gold” on October 8th and are playing a special launch gig at the Lexington, Pentonville Rd, London on October 5th. The new album is released on Cuneiform Records, the label responsible for releases by acts from Soft Machine to Guapo and it follows the wonderfully eclectic Crush Depth and Pre-emptive False Rapture albums that helped the band appear on the likes of BBC’s “Introducing” programme. The band formed over 10 years ago to experiment with genre’s as diverse as Prog, Disco, Doom and beyond and include instruments from guitar, bass and drums to Violin, Bassoon, Trumpet, Sax and there is a fairly fluid line-up that allows for new instruments and idea’s to be involved. They have performed with the likes of Krautrockers Cluster and supported Magma and have had members of Cathedral and Cardiacs come in and out of their ranks. (www.progzonemag.com)
