This is Celtic rock but different & much more progressive (there's that word!) than something 7N (how I love 'em!) or Glengarry Bhoys would crank out. Numbers like "Al Labous Marv," "Paddy's Lament" & "Desert Of Soul" speak of a talent that is steeped in Celtic tradition, to be sure, but augmented beautifully by the colour of TORNAOD's own French background & a rock sensibility brought forth by electric guitar, bass & drums. It all comes to a head on the massive "Tir Na Nog," a nearly 12 minute epic that blows me away every time I hear it. This is the kind of stuf that sets new standards for a growing field.
