*. Ananke .*

Album: Shangri-La (2012)
Genre: Prog Rock (Crossover/Neo Prog)  /  Poland

"Shangri-La" is primarily an increasingly growing role of the extensive and exclusive forms, which are characteristic of classic progressive rock, which boasted Abraxas in the 90s Attention, especially avant-garde deserves  wrath of a very sophisticated form of vocal melody line interwoven with unusual, fragments "toolową" rhythm sounds. It is worth noting that there is no overzealous solo performances, which, as always surprise selection measures and their proportionality. Musicians do not exaggerate with anything and ranks each element in an ideal location. In addition, the overall shape and tone of each of the songs seem to be more polishing than at the time of their debut album "Malachity," but I feel that over time, some of the composition procedure laid down some notes organicity loss of the previous board in exchange for a bit more eccentric form of art, unfortunately losing a piece of rectitude towards a more ceremonial character. Consequently, Promises , Fatami or melancholic Eden  and Shangri-La  categorize this "old school" Ananke, the role of the new sound and take more and more intrigued by a bold, expressive sounds including  Sara , Schizofrenicus  and anger . "Shangri-La" is a lot atmosferyczno-oriental music, which in many places touches the top of the contemporary post / art rock. Spatial mystery melody group that has developed in connection with the controversial form of texts, allegories which can be multiplied by the minute, definitely must lead for a thorough interrogation. Perhaps the first sounds you feel that the world is full of ambiguous associations and ethereal atmosphere, associated with the message of what is not the end of the real and the rational, the characteristic mood of the music group. - This promises to "Shangri-La" team, but even before the premiere that they may safely trust "with the word". Each text and music form an indivisible whole, although it must be admitted that many of the compositions echo pregnant Porcupine Tree ( Promises, Sara, Schizofrenicus, Eden, Mirrors ), Clannad ( Luna ), Marillion ( anger ), and even pieces of the latest achievements of Opeth (sic !) from the album "Heritage", albeit more of a quasi-jazz rock overtones, but there are ... ( Nostalgia, Sara ) Those teams were not given to reproach Ananke duplication of certain patterns, but underscore the extraordinary versatility of form and technology executive musicians who are able to devalue the barrier of time and genre muzyczego cement their values with those already arising in one original and timeless whole. For the team, which unfortunately increasingly rare in other cases, modern groups, including a key priority of the message binds the album is a reflection of certain aspects of life that leads them unconditionally must be in each of the listeners; over himself, the surrounding world, on how many realize and can help us make sense notion of human egyzstencji our unlimited imagination. So his theory and explain the essence of communication musicians themselves: Ananke is the music and lyrics, which are mutually fulfilled. (...) Each of the songs talk about their history with a distinct stigma, like lava emotions, hidden from the rich array of sounds and moods. How gentle whispers in my head full of doubt ...  Indeed, as few people, Adam Lass can boast an extremely skillful creative workshop ministry original texts. Author does not seek unnecessary and silly modifications which reproduces most of the teams today, myself not being able to respond to what it actually says the text, while defending the interpretations of individual form. For some quite bold text form sincerity can be blatant, but it's going to aesthetics. A. Lass developed his own style, which sets the absolute path to the ideals of his poetry, while very skillfully inviting us into the world of Ananke, which should not be a seasoned explorer and original music ensemble. I swear that the "Shangri-La" will find their favorite moments and die-hard fans of classic rock variety, and those who "give" their ears more mainstream forms. perfect solution proved to be a brief introduction to each of the texts on the album booklet guiding the source the author's motivation and communication, while directly helping the listener to pick carefully camouflaged mystical-philosophical values, without which the often controversial content would be heavy, and worse, in some cases misunderstood. And tell me, how can you not bear to listen thoughtfully the following verses: In the sea of human affairs chill Hell / Black and white dreams drift still / call time to be afraid / my spirit right judgment ( promises ), or:  In a sea of fire, earth cries out to star / Every soul believes in the dream jużod years / The sacred feeds deep in us, the power of secrets ( Fatima ) or: The madness step / A head divides the world in half / The many-body skin / abide in schizophrenia ( Schizofrenicus ). Listening to "Shangri-La" definitely can completely lose yourself, and all thanks to the album, which in a very mature way forward binding with music content. "Shangri-La" is sprinkled with frequent changes of tempo and rhythm ( Schizofrenicus, Sara ), contrasted with the more powerful and light to the ear choruses that crisscrossing between the strengths of both hard rock riffs with subtle soft sounds ( Promises, anger ). However, despite such a large variety of material sticks to the specific design chosen, a violent clash in the world of electronics, powerful and classic rock and delicate ballads forms in no way an offense to the album in terms of a lack of consistency.
